9 More sleeps until Christmas.

!cid_002401c836bf$9a782e40$0c20af3a@pmso
Hi,
I can't believe it is only 9 more sleeps until Christmas. December is really going quickly and I still have lots to do. I'm trying to finish a Christmas Stitchery called Boxing Day by Angles In Disguise. Every chance I get i do a little more if the shop is quiet. Trying to get some done at home is absolutely impossible I have friends coming for Christmas dinner so I'm madly trying to clean the house. The shop is starting to get busy, a lot of people are leaving their Christmas Shopping til late.

If I don't get a chance to enter anything more in this year I wish everyone who reads my blog a Happy and Safe Christmas and Great New Year. Kerri's Bundle of Bears has a big year ahead and Charlie Bears in Australia. We are opening a warehouse/office for Charlie Bears Australia in Woodend so I'm really going to try and get some rest over the holidays.

Update

Woody1

Hi,

It seems like ages since I wrote something on my blog. August was quite a busy month just after the Craft & Quilt Fair we had a 5 day show at the Home & Giving Trade Fair where we showcased the new Charlie Bear range. I have pictured above this post my favourite new bear called "Woody" he is coming out in October. He has a little open mouth which makes him look like he is smiling. I couldn't put him down at the show he was so cute to cuddle. Unfortunately i had to send him back to the UK as they needed him but I can't wait until October when he comes back. I hopefully will get to put all the new designs on my website soon. At the moment we are gearing up for the Royal Melbourne Show where we will be in the Art,Craft Pavilion. Come and visit and say hello!!!! I love the show as a kid we went every year as we lived not far from the show grounds. My  brother and myself would always get some show bags and every year i would bring home a cupiedoll on a stick. We started taking our kids very early in their lives and has become a bit of a family tradition. I love the dog pavilion and always try and see the corgis. This year we will be there just about every day so can't wait. Our pavilion is open from 9.30am to 8pm.  2800354_2562069

Well today is my day off and I have heaps of paperwork to do one of my pet hates.......but it has to be done. Hope to hear from anyone soon and I will post again soon.

Finally I get a chance to finish my quilt...............

I'm so excited i made a quilt. It has really been a long time since i have had the sewing machine out.   I must say Michelle's Raggy Seams quilt did inspire me to have a go as all the instructions were in the kit. I choose a lovely flannel I have in the shop and as i wanted it for Daniels bed I had to make sure I had plenty of stars on it so he didn't release some of the colors had flowers on it!!! The stars are really fun to do.  I made it on my Tuesday's and Sundays off. I was really pleased when Daniel was so excited about it. Now I have to make Ben a quilt but his will be in army colors.   I washed the quilt strDaniels_raggy_seams_2aight away and put it in the dryer so the seams did really rag up!!!!!  Tomorrow I will start to pack for the Craft & Quilt Fair we have some great samples of finished quilts, all Making Heirlooms quilts and patterns. Michelle and her partner Greg will be working on the stand Thursday & Friday. Michelle has a wonderful knowledge and background into every aspect of patchwork and quilting and will be only to pleased to help you. I'm working Saturday with Kerry and Carol who have also made some quilts. Kerry has made Teddy Tea Cups and Sew Busy Bears by Teddlywinks and Carol has helped put them together and also finish off some of my stitchery designs by putting a fabric border around them. Sunday it is just me, I'm a little worried it might get busy so if you happen to come on Sunday please come and say hello.   I have pre cut up lots of packs for the Daisy Pattern and Raggy Seams quilt and loads of fat quarters. I'm sure I will forget something to take. Next time I post I hope to be able to give you a report on the show and some pictures.

Cid_6917e63d2a574f5a836186f93747a8a

Hi,

Today I decided to close the shop as Mondays are very quiet and I have a heap of work to get through including housework. Not sure what exactly I did today but it is 7.30 pm and I feel like I have done nothing. Do you have days like that??? My 13 year old Daniel goes back to school tomorrow and I'm really happy about that as he is driving me crazy. My 10 year old Ben has just offered to make me a cuppa as he knows when MUM is stressed. Hubby is on night shift so hopefully when the 2 boys are in bed sound asleep I will get something done. I'm dying to finish my raggy seams quilt so that is the plan for tonight and tomorrow. Paperwork can wait!! Everything seems to be happening this week organizing everything for the Craft & Quilt Fair trying to get as much fat quarters and packs organized. I have the Trade Fair 4 days after the Quilt fair which goes for 5 days and in between that trying to get the Woodend Teddy Bear Show organized. Why do we do this to ourselves have so much on and then try and organize the kids, home, animals and hubby. That is the big question How do we organise ourselves??????

Hi,
Just a little bit of background into my family. I have been married for nearly 14 years with two boys. Daniel is 13 and Ben is about to turn 11. We have 5 dogs and trying to sell 3 puppies, 2 cats, 3 sheep and a pony!! My husband works full time and also in the shop. We live in Woodend a beautiful country town only one hour out of Melbourne heading towards Bendigo. We moved here 11 years ago from Melbourne, West Footscray. We bought a house on 2 acres of land and feel very lucky to be truly living the live we always wanted.  I was extremely lucky to have a very supportive hubby who helped me open my dream shop. Three years ago a shop came up for lease in the main street of Woodend and it all just snowballed from there. Our shop is full of teddy bears in every shape , size, price, color!!!!!!!!! As having worked as a Craft Buyer for 10 years for Lincraft it was always in my blood to do craft work and I absolutley love fabric. So we decided to add patchwork and quilting supplies to  shop. My real love is stitchery and I'm a big fan of Teddlywinks and Angles in Disguise Patterns.   I met Michelle Mckinnon  through playgroup about  10 years ago. We became friends over time and shared a passion for crafts. Michelle taught me how to do my first quilt which to this day is not finished.  When I opened the shop Michelle made some quilts to display and sell. Over time Michelle has now developed her own kits and works casually in the shop. Our first major event is the Craft and Quilt Fair July 24th to 27th. So hopefully if you come along you will come and visit us and say hello.

Kerri
